Description

Malafin 500mg/25mg Tablets contain Sulfadoxine (500 mg) and Pyrimethamine (25 mg), a combination used to treat and prevent malaria. Sulfadoxine is a sulfa medicine that inhibits the growth of parasites, while Pyrimethamine is an antiparasitic that enhances the effectiveness of Sulfadoxine. This combination is particularly useful in areas where other antimalarial drugs may not be effective. Dosage/Directions: For treatment of malaria, the typical dosage for adults is 2 or 3 tablets taken as a single dose, following a 3 to 7-day course of quinine. For malaria prophylaxis, one tablet is taken weekly, starting 1 or 2 days before entering an endemic area and continuing for 4 to 6 weeks after leaving. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and not to exceed the recommended amount. Side Effects: Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite.
