Gaviscon Infant Sachets are designed to relieve and prevent reflux and regurgitation in infants and young children. The active ingredients, Sodium Alginate and Magnesium Alginate, work by forming a thickening gel in the stomach, which stabilizes the stomach contents and reduces the likelihood of reflux. This product is particularly useful for infants who experience discomfort due to acid reflux, helping to keep milk and food down. Dosage/Directions For bottle-fed infants: Mix one sachet into at least 115ml of bottle feed and shake well. For infants over 4.5kg, use two sachets mixed into at least 225ml of feed. For breast-fed infants: Mix one sachet with a teaspoon of cooled, boiled water to form a paste, then add two more teaspoons of water and administer partway through the feed. Do not exceed six doses in 24 hours. Consult a healthcare provider before use in infants under one year of age. Side Effects Common side effects may include constipation and diarrhea. Rare but serious side effects can include allergic reactions. If any severe symptoms occur, such as difficulty breathing or swelling, seek medical attention immediately.
