Description
Surgical spirit contains methyl salicylate 0.5% v/v as the active ingredient.
It also contains diethyl phthalate BP, castor oil and industrial methylated spirit BP.
Therapeutic indications
The spirit is applied to the surface of the skin for use as a cleansing agent and it also has antiseptic properties.
Used for skin preparation before injection.
To prevent bed sores and for hardening the skin of the feet.
Usage
Topical application.
Apply directly to the skin with cotton wool.
Recommended Dose and Dosage Schedule
The product is suitable for use by adults, children and the elderly. To be used as required.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to methyl salicylate or any of the excipients.
Special warnings and precautions for use
Do not apply to broken skin.

Caution: this preparation is flammable, keep away from naked flames.
